Alyssa is a RYT-500 (Registered Yoga Teacher) and a specialist in teaching the Therapeutic Benefits of Yoga for Illness and Injury Recovery, Addictions, and Mental Health. Teaching yoga since 2009, Alyssa has extensive training in Trauma-Sensitive yoga. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Holistic Health from Prescott College and is currently obtaining her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Hawaii with the goal of becoming a LCSW.
Alyssa makes yoga accessible to clients of all ages and skill abilities and shares it passionately, as it has been transformative in her own recovery since 2004. Yoga is a valuable addiction recovery tool as it regulates the nervous system, helps clients to inhabit their physical bodies in a safe and empowering way, and brings about the stillness of mind. Whether it be simple breathing practices, strengthening postures, or skills to better mentally process our worlds; she is committed to finding a practice that’s right for her clients and compassionately guiding them through it.
When Alyssa is not teaching yoga, she enjoys outdoor adventures of any variety like freediving, scuba diving, running, canyoneering, or slacklining.
