Bob was born and raised in Michigan and he has lived in Hawaii since 2015. He graduated with his Masters Degree in Counseling from Central Michigan University in 1995 and began working as a Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor in Early 1996. Prior to that he worked for many years as a Mental Health Technician in a local hospital psychiatric unit. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) as well as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Hawaii. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan.
Bob has completed training through the Option Institute in Sheffield, Massachusetts as an Option Process Certified Mentor which involves providing Socratic style questions with a loving, accepting, and non-judgmental attitude to help individuals identify and change core beliefs.
He has worked with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings with a variety of mental health and addiction concerns. Bob believes that through non-judgmental self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-ownership every individual is able to make a dramatic and lasting personal change.
