Hawaii Island Recovery can now accept insurance that requires the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation.

We take pride in achieving this high level of accreditation.

Our CARF survey report highlighted the
following:

“HIR is small, individualized, and non-bureaucratic, allowing ample flexibility to meet individualized needs, which is something that both
referral sources and persons serviced commented on.

Persons served, referral sources, and family all value that HIR has many staff members with lived experience. …

HIR has amazing effectiveness outcomes, especially given that a high percentage of persons served have not succeeded via past treatment attempts elsewhere, some several times through.”

We also received a special commendation from CARF on our use of dolphin-assisted psychotherapy.

“Staff was able to convey powerful examples of the use of dolphin-assisted therapy leading to breakthroughs in counseling or clinical issues.  As one referral source put it, ‘you would have to have a heart of stone not to become more open via the natural environment experiences offered by Hawaii Island Recovery’.”

We can now accept insurance that requires CARF accreditation.
